The Children's Program is an integral part of church, with a separate service for the children where they can grow and learn Science of Mind principles at their own level. Teachers are Science of Mind (SOM) trained volunteers. They work in teams, grouping children for age-appropriate activities to ensure the best experience for each child.

Traveling North on I-95 (From Washington D.C.): Take first exit to Columbia, Rte. 32 West (The preceding exit is Fort Meade). Take Broken Land Parkway exit; exit splits, STAY RIGHT traveling north toward Owen Brown. Stay on Broken Land Pkwy for about 2.5 miles. Make a LEFT onto Hickory Ridge Road. Stay on Hickory Ridge Road for about 1 mile. Make a LEFT on Sunny Spring Approximately 1/4 mile on LEFT, you'll see the Hawthorn Center - that's us!
Traveling South on Rte. 29 (From Baltimore); Go South on Rte. 29 to Exit 18B (Broken Land Parkway West). Turn LEFT at traffic light at end of exit ramp. Turn LEFT at next traffic light onto Hickory Ridge Road. Drive one mile: turn LEFT at Sunny Spring. The Hawthorne Center is 1-1/2 block south on left.
Traveling North on Rte. 29 (From Silver Spring); Take Rte. 29 North. Take exit 16-B / Rte. 32 West to Clarkesville (Exit 16-A goes to Fort Meade) the exit splits. STAY RIGHT (Exit 17 North). Turn RIGHT onto Cedar Lane. At the third light, turn RIGHT onto Owen Brown Road. Take first LEFT onto Sunny Spring. The Hawthorn Center is 2/3 mile on right.

Directions From Rte. 29 - From Rte. 29, take Rte. 40 East. Make a LEFT onto Rogers Avenue. Make a LEFT at the next light (Town & Country Blvd). Take the second right into the complex. Park near the offices of the Salvation Army and walk around to the left side. The CCSL church office is the first door on the right.
Directions From I-695 - From I-695, take Rte. 40 West through Patapsco Park. Turn right onto Rogers Avenue and follow the directions above (or Optionally, take I-70 to Rte. 29 South).
